You want me to stick a beer can up a chicken’s @$$?!?! Okay…I’m in


 If you wanted a perfectly golden brown, moist, juicy chicken for dinner…look no further. Supabaub found the recipe for us. He assures us that Beer Butt Chicken is exactly what we wanted on our dinner table tonight. So easy to cook all you need is a grill, a can of beer, some butter, a whole chicken, and some spices. Easy and tasty.

Sounds like a meal to me 🙂

Beer Butted Chicken

 

Ingredients:

  • A whole chicken
  • Beer
  • Butter
  • Seasonings (I like McCormick’s Grill Mates)
  • Olive Oil (optional)
  • Non-stick cooking spray (optional) 

Prep Directions:

Go to the store and buy a whole chicken and a case of beer (and some butter and seasoning if you don’t have any). Go home watch TV and drink the beer. Don’t drink all the beer. Save one can. Okay, now drink almost half the can of beer that you set aside. Easy killer, I said ALMOST half the can. Maybe I should’ve been more specific. Remove 4 oz. of beer from a 12 oz. beer can. Now comes the hard part. Reach up the chickens rear end and remove all things residing in the cavity. Wash you chicken. Pat your chicken dry. Wash your hands. Melt butter in the microwave (or you can use olive oil if you got it). Lube your chicken up with the melted butter or oil. Wash your hands. Rub the inside of the chicken with your seasoning, I used the premade stuff (McCormick’s Grill Mates – Roasted Garlic Montreal Chicken Seasoning). Wash your hands. I am paranoid about salmonella, in case you haven’t noticed. Rub the season mix on the outside of the chicken too. Wash your hands. Fire up your grill (if you got a gas grill set it somewhere in-between 325 degrees F and 350 degrees F if you’re using good a good old-fashioned charcoal grill try to maintain a medium heat level, don’t let it get too hot). Now lube your beer can (you can use non-stick spray if you got it…it makes removing the can from the chickens butt so much easier). Now your ready to insert the beer can in the chicken’s bum.

Cooking directions:

Stand your chicken up in the middle of the grill (legs down). If you can’t get it to stand up, you fail as a man. Just kidding, that is just what she said. You can get a baking sheet and try to stand it up on that or you can buy a chickencan stand if you can find it in the store. Close the lid. Cook for just under an hour or if you have meat thermomoter what till it reads somewhere between 175- 180 degrees. Remove from grill. Let cool. Remove can from dinners bum. Serve. Enjoy.
